No sooner the General Body Elections were finalised, the general secretary of the SLRWA, Mr. A. Dalwani, reported to the residents that a meeting was called in by the ACP Ms. Kavita for the public safety programme for the C, C-1, D, and, E block at 2 pm, on May 26th ’24. It was attended by SLRWA all blocks representatives, security personnel, and SVK association members. Following factors were discussed and mulled about regarding their solutions.
1. Increase in the mobility of the police riders, whose contact details will be shared with the RWAs, particularly for the brash elements and refugees residing in the basements of the 60 yards plots and around, who generally are engaged in street broils and group fights. Recently many residents had raised an issue for the safety of their offsprings who play in the neighbouring places and are prone to such obscenity.
2. Drive will be initiated to create a database for the senior citizens to keep a check on their welfare on periodic basis.
3. Unwanted kiosks around SVK and other locations shall be checked by the police team and unauthorized ones shall be removed as they pose a threat to the decorum of the society; by being the centre for the unruly elements who congregate around them and spoil the serenity of the common grounds.
4. Few important telephone numbers of police personnel shall be shared to remain in touch with the department in case of mishaps when their assistance is needed in emergencies.
5. For women safety and drug abuse special drive is enunciated, with the help of RWAs, the department wants it to be eradicated from the societies altogether.
In due course of time, another meeting will be held in the community center or one of the parks to encourage more public platform. All these decisions were taken after due deliberation on the law-and-order situation that prevails in Sushant Lok in general nowadays. The meeting concluded with the determination of the police Department and RWA to work hand in hand for the upliftment of the Sushant Lok!
