In recent times, there has been a growing trend among devotees to offer grains directly onto the Shiv Lingh as a gesture of reverence to Lord Shiv. While the intention behind such offerings is pure and sincere, it has inadvertently led to unintended consequences, particularly concerning the drainage system.
Reports indicate that the drainage system at the Mandir had become clogged with rice and grains, causing inconvenience that led to a lengthy cleaning process. As stewards of our environment and custodians of sacred traditions, we must address this issue responsibly.
In response to this concern, a humble request is being made to all devotees to reconsider their offerings. Instead of placing grains directly on the Shiv Lingh, it is suggested to place them respectfully by the side of the deity after first touching the grains to the Shiv Ling. This small adjustment in practice can significantly alleviate the strain on the drainage system while still honouring the sacredness of the ritual.
By adopting this mindful approach, we can ensure that our offerings to Lord Shiv are made with both reverence and consideration for the environment. Let us come together as a community to preserve the sanctity of our traditions while also demonstrating our commitment to sustainable practices.
As devotees, it is our collective responsibility to uphold the principles of respect, mindfulness, and environmental stewardship in all our religious practices. Let us heed this call for conscious offerings and contribute to a harmonious relationship between devotion and ecological preservation. May Lord Shiv bless us all with wisdom and guidance as we strive to honour him in ways that are both spiritually uplifting and environmentally responsible.
