One of the most cherished customs during Navratri especially on Durga Ashtami is the kanjak puja which involves worshipping young girls symbolising the manisfestation of the goddess herself. Devotees prepare delicious prasad items to offer these girls as a token of reverence and gratitude. As a responsible member of the society, its our responsiblity to see that the pooja prasad is not thrown around the back lanes. This could be seen around Y-50 and also in all back lanes of all blocks. The kanjaks should be given something packed which they can carry back home.
