MCD Applauds ARA Efforts Towards Zero Waste Colony

Samvada News Bureau

Residents of Anand Lok are extremely happy to know that ARA’s special efforts to make Anand Lok a Zero Waste Colony have been applauded by the Govern-ment. In recognition of this
major achievement, a function was organised by the MCD where ARA was presented a certificate by the Lt Gov of Delhi.
ARA is thankful to all residents in this regard as it is the combined efforts of everyone in the colony due to which it has successfully managed to achieve the goal.
Secretary Kushal Kumar, Vice President Pravesh Gulati and Vinodji attended this special function which lasted for 2.5 hours. 28 RWAs were selected in Delhi and Anandlok was one of them. LG really appreciated the RWAs, NGOs and special individuals. He wants that MCD and RWAS along with public should work together to make Delhi a zero waste city. All DCs and CEs and MCD staff are instructed to coordinate with RWAs and report progress every day. He wants all RWAs to join this crusade and take any assistance from MCD. We are lucky that we are First among 600 RWAs to get this special recognition.
We need cooperation of all residents to segregate wet and dry waste at their kitchen before giving to garbage picker. We have to prove our colony zero waste. Bins already installed in Park-1 for compost, dry, wet and electronic waste. MCD will make regular visits to see these bins and will also help us to achieve targets.
