Independence Day Celebration In Ram Vihar

On Thursday, 15 August, at 10:30 am, patriotic songs filled the air during the Independence Day celebration in Ram Vihar. This is a regular tradition for the residents of Ram Vihar on Independence Day and Republic Day. The central lawn was adorned with chairs, mats, and tricolour decorations. Many residents, along with their children, gathered in large numbers, all dressed patriotically. At precisely 11:30 am, the Society President unfurled the National Flag, followed by an enthusiastic rendition of the National Song. Sweets were distributed to all attendees. Subsequently, all residents took their seats as the children prepared to showcase their talents. Two young artists, aged 4 years, recited the poem “I Salute My Flag” and sang the National Anthem with confidence and articulation. Other children, mostly between the ages of 6 and 7, performed patriotic songs and dances, reflecting the rich traditions of our country. The children displayed remarkable talent and enthusiasm, demonstrating their readiness to perform on any occasion. All they need is encouragement and incentive to boost their morale. Following this, a dance teacher conducted a short Bhangra demonstration, which was joined by many children, proving to be a big hit. Plans are in place to start Bhangra classes for younger children, either in groups or individually, depending a sufficient number of interested participants. In the evening, the community enjoyed a Bumper Tambola, drawing in enthusiastic players for the two rounds. Despite the anticipation, no one claimed the Snowball, which will roll over to the next Tambola session, scheduled for September. The community aims to host everyone’s favorite Tambola at least once a month. It was a fortunate day with two joyful events in the morning and evening, making the Independence Day celebration a great success. We eagerly look forward to the next gathering, where we can continue to socialize and connect with each other.
