Bilateral Disputes-RWA’s Role

View a RWA has a clear mandate of ensuring welfare of the large community of its members. Resolution of bilateral disputes is not supposed to be their normal duty. However, if the disputing parties offer a clear undertaking that they would accept the final decision of the RWA and also not blame it for being biased, then the RWA can mediate. But the RWA will have to be careful that they are unwittingly not encouraging or condoning infringement of any law. Also, the RWA needs to take a collective call when stepping outside of their normal mandate. Any split view needs to be contained internally. Contributed by Rakesh Dewan.
