Sector 26 Noida

Burglary At BJP Leader’s House

No one was home when the break-in occurred

In what can be described only as shocking, Kapir Parmar’s residence at D Block was burgled on the night of August 19. For the uninformed, Kapil Parmar is the IT Head & Media Cell Head of the Young Wing of the BJP and an important functionary of the political party.

Kapil and his family had gone to his hometown in Himachal Pradesh and returned on 20th Aug. As per newspaper reports, they unlocked their front door to see that the bedroom locks were broken. Sector 20 Noida Police came, and they entered the house to find almirahs open and all the belongings strewn about. The thieves took all the jewellery and cash in the house. CCTV footage has revealed that two men entered the house from the roof after breaking down the door.

It has been learnt that the police approached all neighbouring houses to request CCTV footage. It seems that the thieves entered the house well-prepared with bags and tools. They were wearing surgical masks and caps to conceal their identity. They entered and exited the balcony many times and seemed to have spent a few hours in the house. The vacant plot and an under-construction house, which are behind the burgled house, are being flagged as possible entry points.

There is no further update available on this theft.

This incident has raised major questions about the state of security in the sector. With Pankaj Singh (Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly) residing in this sector and Dr Mahesh Sharma (Member of Lok Sabha) holding meetings at Kailash Hospital next door, Sector 26 Noida should be the showcase of Noida in terms of cleanliness, electricity, water, roads, and security. Sadly, that is not the case.

One hopes the ones in positions of power take action soon.

Another such incident was reported in the sector recently as Venketesh on B Block Group messaged, “At around 8pm neighbors of house no. A-135 heard some sound from the house which is locked from a long time. Guards and supervisor came into action. The miscreants ran away sensing trouble. I also reached the spot. Police was also called from the choki. Owner was contacted on phone.”
