Krishna Janmashtami Celebrations

This year, as always, the Nirvana community came together to celebrate Janm-ashtami with full fervour and devotion. The festival is one of our most cherished traditions, filled with celebrations, readings, recitations of religious texts, and vibrant dance performances that bring the life of Krishna to the fore. August truly is a festive month, and the enthusiasm from all blocks of Nirvana was palpable.

For weeks, the excitement had been building, thanks to the incredible energy of those planning the festivities. When the day finally arrived, the celebrations were in full swing, lasting throughout the day and uniting our community in devotion.

It was heartwarming to see residents from all generations participating so actively. Senior citizens, who had been practising their dance performances for days, showcased their talent alongside young children and even toddlers dressed as Bal Krishna. The recitations and singing of Krishna bhajans created a beautiful atmosphere, reflecting the involvement of all age groups across Nirvana like never before.

The performances were truly inspirational. Madhu Naithani, Seema Singh, Saroj Sareen, Kavita, and Anuja Sinha captivated us with their Kathak dances—performances that were the result of immense hard work and dedication to learning the art form. Ten-year-old Sia’s Kathak performance was very refreshing. Renu Trehan’s Bhajans left everyone enriched and asking for more. Overall a day which rekindled and strengthened the participants’ devotion and love for Krishna.
