Construction norms and standards need to be proficiently executed in the housing complexes. Few lapses left unattended, during the time the buildings are coming up, lead to nagging problems over the years which the inhabitants have to later put up with.
Such is the case with the Grand Omaxe society. Each year during the rainy season, the residents face the problem of water entering the basement parking of the towers.
This year it has rained a few days only, though heavy. But when it rains, only for a few hours water enters the basement parking area. The defect in the water flow system in the basement has not been taken care of ever since the construction time. Earlier, when the complex was with the builder, it was brought to their notice and he assured to take care of it.
Over the years the flow of water into the basement is the same; the menace and inconvenience faced during this time of the year fades away with the passing of the rainy season… and then forgotten for the year.
Now with over a decade of shifting to this society, this problem irks all.
The waterlogging in the parking space creates a lot of inconvenience while walking through the puddle of water to reach the car. During busy hours or the lean time, problems are peculiar. Rain should be an enjoyable time after sweating out without them, but here it is the most dreaded time.
There are chances of mishap of short-circuit too, since modern cars are fitted with a number of accessories and apps.
The drainage system of the basement parking area is an important area component of the complex, where complete repair should be undertaken. This is a major project that needs to be worked out with experts and should be done immediately after the rainy season is over.
Carefully planning and comprehensive work, once done properly, will be beneficial for all for many years to come.
