The annual subscription has been raised to Rs. 10000/- from Rs. 6000/- p.a.. by PERA. With the rise in inflation, the raise was much needed to meet the expenses of the maintenance of the Colony. Some residents have paid, while others are reluctant and non- committal towards the raised subscription. If we want a good security system, Cleaning of roads, maintenance of the roads and street lights and water then one is not left with any option but to pay. As an A Class Colony we want A class facilities then we must be responsible for the expenses that we incur in keeping our colony safe and clean. Just as we are expected to pay promptly, the Society should ensure the Security to be A Class. Guards are often caught sleeping at night or immersed in mobile viewing. Some say they are doing double duty and therefore are fatigued and cannot dispense their duties efficiently. Recently there were thefts of manhole covers during daytime in C Block. Residents of C-66, C-12 and C-13 complained of the theft. Resident of C-66 have even got the manhole cover replaced bearing the cost of it but in a week’s time it got stolen again. They have now hired a guard for the day too.The cleanliness raises a lot of questions. Heaps of garbage lying here and there,of course some due to heavy rainfall but can be better. So many jamuns have fallen on the road. Wish we could hire a daily wager and have it picked up and sold to the colony residents. Maybe one of us need to volunteer and take up the initiative. As I write this, got to know that the old Security Agency is being changed for a better one. Always hope for the best because it’s for the best. This decision, taken by the managing committee, aims to fund essential upgrades, including better waste management, improved security, and regular maintenance of common areas. While the increase may place a slight financial burden on residents, it is crucial for sustaining the colony’s infrastructure and ensuring a cleaner, safer, and more comfortable living environment for everyone.
