GJCSCF held its monthly meeting on 28th January 2024 at GSCCC TT Hall 4PM onwards. The President Y. Sahay welcomed all the members and wished them happy new year along with their family members and mentioned that in the coming year the forum will plan more events and activities. He informed that the forum’s cultural incharge Mrs.Madhu Bhandari lost her brother yesterday. It is a great loss for her. The forum condoled and two minutes silence was observed in memory of the departed soul.
Mr Saluja requested Mrs Dheengra to take the responsibility of announcing the numbers for the Tambola game. She agreed and under her direction two games of Tambola were played. The prize was only for the full house. In the first game there was a tie between Mr Saluja and Mr Y Sahay. There was only one prize. The decision of the winner was done by lottery and Mr Sahay was declared the winner. In the second game Dr R C Sharma was the lucky winner. Mr Sahay and Dr Sharma received the prize on their win. Mr. Dhingra recited his self composed gazal वे मेरे घर आई अपना रूमाल छोड़ गई. Afterwards he also narrated a few lines on his philosophy of life and doing good work for the society.
After that Mr Sahay requested Mrs Malvika Thakur to entertain the members with her sweet and melodious voice. She presented the beautiful song “रखा बहार आई, रस की फुहार लाई, in her mesmerizing voice and skillfully improvised and remixed it in Bengali language. Everyone enjoyed it. Afterward on public demand she sang one more song. Mr Vijay Sharma sang ये जुल्फ अगर खुल जाती तो अच्छा it was appreciated by all by huge applause. Mrs Geeta Jha presented punjabi song जुगनी, मेरी जुगनी कुकदी है जुगनी कडदी चरखा है It was in fast track and so all who knew punjabi enjoyed it. Later Mrs Geeta Jha recited her self composed poem प्राणायाम जरूरी है in which she explained to be healthy physically, mentally and spiritually. It is necessary that we take care of our breath by anulom vilom pranayam as air is polluted. There are too many good and bad thoughts, we should grasp, inhale only pure truthful thoughts and ideas which improve our dimension and spirituality. Strain, filter whatever you inhale.
Mr Vimal Bhan sang सुहाना सफर और ये मौसम हसी All of us joined him with rhythm. Mr Harsh Chadda the birthday boy remembering his hostel days presented a song which he used to sing at hostel corridors – ओ लोगों ये कैसो जमानो आयो Mrs Nirupama Verma sang Heer हीर दी डोली।
‘‘डोली चढते ही हीर वे मुझे ले चलें बाबुल’’ The words of lyric and depth and emotions in singing made everyone to feel the pain and sorrow of Heer Mr Subhash Saluja sang a sad song यार उठाये चलेगे अपने कन्धे पे हमे is ges an ultimate truth for all of us. The most entertaining interesting event of the day was Mr Harsh Chadda’s dance performance the song was ‘‘इन आंखों की मस्ती के परवाने हजारों है’’, ‘‘सलाम इश्क जरा कबूल कर लो’’ Every one enjoyed his kathak dance performance. Hope in future more dancers will come forward with their dancing talents.
Mr K Azad presented birthday gifts to all birthday boys and girls. That was followed by cutting of cake and high tea and gup shup.
