Sector Children Stole the Show
RWCS celebrated the glorious 77 years of Independence with a spirit of patriotism.
The celebrations started in the lawn outside the community center where hues of tricolour featured in the decoration all around and gave it a very patriotic look. The event started with the Bharat mata ki puja performed by prez Govind Sharma, some senior citizens and RWCS office bearers.
As soon as the flag was hoisted by Prez Govind Sharma hundreds of tri-colour balloons went up in the air released by the sector residents.
The program then shifted inside the airconditioned Gangotri Hall. Savita Saxena greeted the residents and invited Deepak Sharma to sing the desh bakhti song ‘Sare Jahan Se Acha’.
This was followed by Prez Govind Sharma’s speech regarding the sector issues. He explained in detail some of the issues that were disturbing the residents.
Thereafter some prominent residents were honoured for their contribution. IG Khan, Madhu Ganesh (whose late husband and now her son and son law are both in the forces), Meet Sagar (the cyclist) and 7 yr old Yuvaan Sahu (for first rank in Mathematics International Olympiad) and Atharv Mittal (grandson of SC Mittal) who topped all over CBSC by scoring 99.4 % were honoured. RWCS office bearers Sanjeev Duggal, OP Bansal, Savita Saxena and office manager Rajeev were also recognised for their contribution.
Sector children in various fancy dresses participated and exhibited their skills quite enthusiastically on the occasion. They sang patriotic songs and made the organisers and their parents proud. They inculcated the feeling of patriotism and love and pride towards nation among all. Prasad of Ladoos & Kachori were distributed to all.
