Among the various incidents of dogs biting the passer-by, this is the latest. This happened on 28 June, in C-block. It is seen and reported that some residents care givers for street dogs are deputing servants to feed them in the other lanes, away from their own street. In spite of request by neighbours, and at time arguments, the practice continues. On this day, in the morning, a servant was feeding stray dogs near the culvert of the lane where some construction work is going on. A labourer, worker on the construction site, was coming for work. He was bitten by one of the pack of 6–8 dogs. The pack of dogs on this side of the sector, we are told, were reared and fed by the milk dairy people, who moved out from the lane almost a year back. When they vacated the rented premises, they left them behind. As such, the stray dog nuisance in the sector has aggravated over the years. This has led to the formation of like-minded groups on this issue, which leads to confrontation and threats to the extent of going to the police. Authority needs to take strict action.
