‘Ujale Mann Ke’ is a collection of poems by Dr. Nisha Wadhwa. The deep human feelings are expressed very simply by the poet. The poetry deals with various social issues and personal emotions to which most of the readers can relate spontaneously. The poems capture the wide range of concerns and problems related to the human mind and current lifestyle.
Being a woman, there is a natural articulation of issues like glorifying beauty of a woman, her resilience and her inner strength. She delves deep into the various aspects of motherhood such as unfathomable faith in her mother, intense love for her children, and the gloominess of an ’empty nest’ when children go away. Poet’s portrayal of the entire journey from being a daughter, to a wife and to a mother evokes a sense of relatability and is in sync with every mother.
Another set of poems speak of the beautiful journey of life, including day to day enthusiasm, entertainment, beauty of nature and the zeal for doing something great in life. The poet has also touched upon other topics like modern day human relations losing their warmth, family bonding, difference between the two genders, which is prevalent in the society since ages, polluted environment, concern for its conservation, the tough times of Corona pandemic and the plight of the underprivileged.
Some of the poems relate to the past, some are in present and others go in future. They revolve around self- analysis, memories, dreams, repentance and faith in the supreme power. The poems in ’Ujale Mann Ke’ have a natural flow and convey the message with ease in a straightforward manner to the readers.
