The school adopted by Youth world near Defence colony is now having strength of approx. 50 jhuggi-Jhopri children who attend the school for 4 hours and learn Hindi, English, maths, and drawing from volunteer teachers. The kids sit on a mat under the tree and study these subjects in a practical and interesting manner to grasp maximum every day. They are also given mid-day meal everyday by few volunteer residents of Def col which keep donating dry food, books, colours, pencils etc for these well deserving slum kids. The weekly treat of fruits, biscuits, chocolates etc. ensure their interest in the studies to become respectable citizens in the near future. The Youth world is now planning to give them some woollen clothes, blankets, socks etc to save them from chilling winter knocking the door.
