The Month of February (फाल्गुन का महीना), with morning chills and comfortable sunny afternoons, make it a perfect time for family picnic. Nehru Park of ‘lovebirds
fame’, was chosen as an ideal place, for Youngistaani couples to have some fun on Saturday, 22 February.
As per the standard operating procedure, we hired the services of a tempo traveller, so as to travel together; the party could start as soon as we leave AOH premises. During the travel, all of us were properly primed so that our spirits were high when we reached the park.
The session started with golgappa served with love, followed by interesting games, intermingled with photo sessions and sumptuous lunch. The gourmet food spread, prepared by the gorgeous ladies, left all of us speechless.
Icing on the cake was, the services of ‘चाय वाला’, who served hot delicious tea/ coffee followed by serving of paan.
To pay gratitude to the lovely ladies,एक कवि ने अपने दिल के भाव कुछ इस तरह प्रगट किए।
चंद शब्द, हम सब की अर्धांगिनियों को समर्पित।
बसंत मौसम की, इस रौनक को, समर्पित।
पिकनिक पर निकला है, यारों का जमावड़ा।
आज का कलाम, हमारी दोस्ती को समर्पित।
फूलों की माला की सुगंध, साधना की सौम्यता
का रस, बिखर गया।
प्रभा की चमक, कुसुम की कोमलता, नीलम
की भव्यता का प्रभाव छा गया।
इन्दु की चाँदनी, सुनीता के धर्मार्थ का लाभ,
सबको मिल गया।
अलका, विषण, सुनिला के जलवों का, हर कोई
दीवाना हो गया।
कामिनी की कामना, आक्षी के अस्तित्व की
महिमा का, बखान क्या करें।
ज्ञान कवि के यंगिस्तानी दोस्तों का दिल, आज
नेहरू उद्यान में, बाग बाग हो गया।
The trip was concluded with a visit to the Tulip Garden Festival at the lawns of Shanti Path where the flowers were at full bloom. It was a perfect place to relive our cpiu by enjoying the orange bar on the street.
