Yoga is excellent if we want to keep our body strong and healthy. No wonder yoga is becoming increasingly popular among seniors. Santosh Sood resident of C – 412 is yoga expert. She has voluntarily started yoga classes in our community hall, from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm daily, except Tuesdays, as that day we have Amritvani Pooja.
Deep breathing exercises (Pranayama), meditation and stretching is basically done. It helps in reducing anxiety and stress.
All ladies are around 70 plus and thus comfortably sit on chairs during their daily yoga session. Except for 1 – 2 ladies, all prefer to stay seated. Mrs Sood our Guru / instructor is a very soft, gentle and humble lady and guides very lovingly.
Who does not want to feel younger and more energetic? Ladies have already started feeling light and flexible. Mrs Sood always says be sure to listen to your body and not push yourself past your limit.
So gradually and gradually compete with yourself and reward yourself also.
21 June is International Yoga Day. There is a proposition to celebrate that day with as many residents as possible from children to adults. We are looking forward for that special day with lot of enthusiasm and excitement.
