There is more “Good news” from GMDA for the residents of Sushant Lok/ DLF 4, who might have just barely finished counting their G20 blessings. Revamp of two arterial roads- Galleria Market and Vyapar Kendra-is likely to start soon. So a lot of heat and dust and honking on the road for the next 12 months!
The project received government approval in January and GMDA officials will soon be issuing work orders. The revamp of Galleria Market Road will cost the GMDA around 21.7 crore, while Rs 22.4 crore will be spent on the redevelopment of Vyapar Kendra Road. Under the project, GMDA will widen the existing stretch to six lanes with the central verge allowing bi-directional traffic movement in the area. Looks like traffic moving peacefully is too much for the authorities to digest.
In addition, apparently, the 2.5m-wide cycle tracks and 1.8m-wide uninterrupted footpaths will also be created. So obviously the ones created during G20 will be razed. The green belt consisting of 700-1000 old trees, will be done away with, they of course claim, new ones will be planted. Also, the existing drain will be closed and a new, concretised one will be created, to replace it.
Is GMDA for real! Yeh log Public money ke alava aur kya phunkte hain!
