World Environment Day is a global event aimed at raising awareness and encouraging action for protection of our environment. The day is celebrated on 5 June every year.
In Vasant Vihar, the World Environment Day was celebrated at two places: the Arya Samaj, Vasant Vihar, and the Vasant Vihar Club.
At Arya Samaj, Vasant Vihar, Anand primary school and Suraj Bhan DAV Public school children took a round of their school premises along with the teachers and the members of the Arya Samaj management shouting slogans at the top of their voices: Save Earth Save Life. The children and the guests planted trees, which was followed by painting competition for the children on environment. The celebrations ended with a prize distribution. Overall, it was a well-organized and a well-attended function.
At the Vasant Vihar Club, a poster making competition was held related to the environment for the children in the age groups of 5-8 and 9-13. Children were required to bring their own poster making material. The event was supported by Fortis, Vasant Kunj, Pragyata, Bread & More, and Sahil Garbage Bags. The function ended with a high tea and some great surprises for all.
