World Environment Day was also celebrated this year on the 5th of June; as is since the past 50 years. Different groups and residents celebrated it in different ways. The World Environment Conference 2023 invited Mr. P. Sethi to grace the occasion who happens to be a Sushant Lok resident.
Ar. Punit Sethi, the chairman of ASSOCHAM GEM Haryana and Principal Architect, IAD Studio, who resides in Sushant Lok C block, has made us proud by being invited as the special guest and Distinguished Panelist at the second session of Environment & Development Bharat on the theme of Meeting Climate Change Goals through LIFE and Industry partnerships. The conference was conducted from 5th to 7th June at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The theme of the conference was-“Save Nature-save Future.” Hope it would encourage the residents of the World to be more considerate towards Mother Earth!
Biofuel Expo- a Future Energy Business Platform, an International Event at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi Was held up from 5-7th June ‘23, in which our SLRWA members had participated too and the General Secretary of SLRWA, Deepak Verma had spoken about the importance and necessity to meet the target of Zero Waste Management to fix the Climate Change issue globally. He also exaggerated the solution for Zero Waste Management System for C block by separating Dry and Wet waste and ultimately processing it in the Compost Plant to get the organic compost to be used for plantation in place of chemical fertilizers; which are hazardous to Nature. He also suggested that local authorities like RWAs and Gram Panchayats are the best platforms to handle the Zero Waste programs in the societies.
Saahas (Alag Karo) had arranged an Art Exhibition- Canvas Art Competition and Exhibition to illustrate the deep connection between society and the environment in collaboration with the Kalagram Society for Fine Arts. The celebration was arranged to be held at John Hall, Civil Lines, Gurugram, on the 5th of June 2023 at 5:00 pm.
There were many other efforts for the Gurgaon residents in which people had to narrate their two environmentally friendly actions and two of their suggestions in a form provided by the Residents4EcofriendlyGurgaon, where the best 25 participants were to be selected to speak at the webinar on June at 8:30 pm. Hope these awareness drives spread positive vibes and encourage us to be more mindful of our acts about the planet we live on…
