SMARTHEAD Robotics conducted a workshop on Sunday, 16 April in the clubhouse. It was a free Lego WeDo Robotics and Lego FV3 robotics boot camp. It was a unique class that brought STEM learning to children.
~30-35 children in the 5-12 age group attended. In the first 15 minutes, they were explained about robotics and how to go about it. They were given 1.5 hours to make Lego robots. All of them were given a Lego base.
Kids had also been given motors and control panels. They could make any design out of it. Teachers also assisted them to make Lego robots. The younger children could make two/ three-wheeler vehicles whereas the elder ones could make a car, a truck or a robot.
The one-day robotics class ended with kids having a small competition: a robot race!
