Women Square celebrates almost every festival of the year in its own way. Circular giving details of the event is sent to members on whatsapp so that the members come well prepared for participation. Besides the date and time, it mentions about the proposed group activity ie. A small play “Teej Ki Saree”. Based on Nanad Bhabhi ki Nok – Jhok” followed by Teej celebrations where the participants in Lehenga Choli (Dress Code) danced for 2/3 minutes followed by Group Dance.
There was Tambola, and then a display of self-creativity (i.e. making of Bandhanwar with banana leaves). Basement of Pind Baluchi was reserved for the function. Sawan ka Jhula was arranged from outside. All the ladies in their fineries did not want to miss their snap on the jhula as a memory of the day well spent.
Bina Jain, the hostess, not only gave a display of self-creativity, but also took her turn to dance and yet was generous in her hospitality. Snacks like Dahi Kebab, Paneer chunks with masala, crispy corn and finger chips with a variety of cold drinks were taking rounds and the sumptuous Lunch was enjoyed by all of us.
Thank you Binaji for your hospitality. Thanks to all the beautiful Dolls for their spirit of camaraderie. Last but not the least is our Shakti whose initiative brought the ladies together and instilled in them the jest for life. Her mind works 24 hours it seems, resulting in a new brain child every month.
Good Luck and Goodbye!
