WishTown United (WTU) continues to put Wishtown on the global stage as the only team from India qualifying to play the prestigious Last Man Stands – Malaysia open, 2-10 August.
WTU has already concluded two exciting overseas tournaments – Malaysia last year and Barbados early this year. Doing our third trip within a year says a lot about the excitement we show towards showcasing our talent globally.
At Last Man Stands – Malaysia, the participating countries are India, Australia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Pakistan, Qatar, New Zealand and South Africa. Our team comprises Vineet Vohra (captain), Arun Awana, Rohit Bansal, Kanishk Tyagi, Vipul Sharma, Anshul Swaroop and Gagandeep Singh Chawla.
The firebrand WTU bunch has played 350+ matches in the local circuit. Besides, we have also continued to grow as a unit with three-four matches being conducted every week. Many cricketing activities are planned ahead.
Getting overseas exposure has also helped in building connections with teams and academies abroad which should help in honing the talent of our aspiring young cricketers. We look forward to continued support and patronage of residents to make WTU a strong conduit uplifting cricketing aspirations of our stake holders.
