Wishtown Celebrates Guru Nanak Gurpurab

I had just returned from a nostalgic tour of the Punjab when I was confronted with a pleasant surprise. WTSS organises many religious events, and it was organising the most celebrated day of the Sikh community, Gurpurab on Sunday, 19 November.

A huge Lily white pandal with white spreads had been erected near the swimming pool in Club 3 to celebrate Gurpurab. The atmosphere was very soothing, very religious and in conformity with the pious Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s preachings.

It was very well organised and an event full of bhakti. The Prasad was in abundance and the shabad sung filled the entire atmosphere and the neighbourhood with sentiments of religion. The ambience at the place where Gurpurab was celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Sahib was very appropriate.

Guru Nanak ji is revered not only in the Sikh and Hindu communities but by every peace-loving community in the world. I am so glad that Gurpurab was added in the calendar of events being celebrated by WTSS.

Nothing was charged from the devotees who thronged the pandal under the open blue sky. May the spirit of co-existence bloom!
