Panchshila Park Junior Green Team organized a bird walk on 7 April at the Green Belt DDA park behind E-block of Panchshila Park and the adjoining area.
There were around 12 excited participants who gathered at 7.00 am at the meeting point.
Ajay Maira and Raahat (residents) who are avid bird watchers conducted the lovely nature walk spotting and identifying the beautiful birds we have in the area behind Panchshila Park. Some of the 16 odd species spotted were Coucal, Robin, Sunbird, Magpie, Barbet and Koyal.
Some tree species were also identified. The enthusiasts were armed with binoculars, hats and eagerly explored the lush foliage. As they walked, the birders explained the migratory patterns, nesting behaviours and the delicate balance of our ecosystem.
Amidst the urban bustle, this nature walk was welcome not only for the ornithologists but also for the residents who marveled at the avian life behind our colony.
We wish more juniors join in next time as this walk is not only a mere observation but an experience full of wonderment and joy. Thank you, Brinda, and Mannika for setting up the Junior Green team. We look forward to more such walks and activities which you would be organizing in the future for children and adults.
I had a nice chat with the most disciplined and a fitness/ health freak. DK Aggarwal over a cup of tea and was astonished to look at his positivity towards life. Hope we all get that spirit and live life king-size. He is an inspiration to all and extremely agile and active at his age.
