I sometimes wonder why God has made universally loved and tasty foods which now doctors say not to eat or only eat in moderation, if you must. Red meat, butter, eggs, ghee, cheese, icecream etc. Most people love to eat and used to eat without guilt when we did not know what is cholesterol, blocked arteries, diabetes, weight issues, etc. Modern science and research has, in the last 60-70 years, told the world that the foods mentioned above are quite harmful and if not eaten can increase our life span.
Tasty vegetables like lauki, tinda, tori, parwal, etc. are highly recommended and all non-vegetarian foods should be shunned. If you do so you will have a healthy and long life (no guarantee though), so the choice is clear. Eat tasty foods and invite trouble or eat healthy food and live longer and healthier.
The other type lived long perhaps with no pleasures of food available rather ” Eating to live” only.
For most the better option is “Living to Eat”. If with moderation, I feel that is the best choice.
Indeed smoking and drinking also give pleasure, but those who get addicted and commit excess are wrong today and were wrong before. These are indeed lethal and one should know the boundaries.
Now, since your life is precious the choice is clear. The decision is yours.
