On May 24th, at approximately 6 pm, we received a distressing call from our concerned neighbours, Mr. Oberoi. It appeared that a large cement mixing truck going to M 12 had collided with the electric wire connected to our house, resulting in significant damage to our property. Eager to assess the situation, both my mother-in-law and I rushed outside to witness the extent of the destruction.
To our dismay, the impact of the collision had not only left our electric pole severely bent but had also caused substantial harm to the front wall of our house. Furthermore, the gate had been thrown off balance, disrupting its alignment, and the electric wire dangerously drooped down, touching the road below. Adding to the complexity of the situation, the truck driver was unaccompanied by a helper, a clear violation of legal requirements. Unfortunately, his lack of cooperation with us and the Quick Response Team (QRT) only heightened our frustration.
Realizing the need for immediate action and resolution, we promptly contacted the local police and proceeded to transport the cement mixing truck to the nearby N block Police Station. It was at the station that the authorities summoned representatives from the responsible builder. Fortunately, after discussing the matter with the builder’s representatives, they agreed to take responsibility for the damages incurred and assured us that the necessary repairs would be promptly undertaken.
In adherence to the standard protocol, we diligently completed all required documentation with the police, ensuring that every detail was accurately recorded. Despite the passage of time, the damages to our property have yet to be rectified. However, we recently received communication from the builder’s representative, indicating their intention to address the situation promptly.
We remain hopeful that the repairs will commence soon, as we eagerly anticipate the restoration of our property to its previous state.
