Young Poet of Princeton: Hunar Mandhyan

We’d like to share some written pieces of the young and talented Hunar, a 14 year old resident of Princeton and studies in 9th grade. Below are 3 poems written by her:

What night means to me

Nights are to dream and days are to make them true,

Night is the only rime when I am never blue,

The day is done,

No more of scorching sun,

What a serene night,

And look at the dream flight,

Sitting beside the river,

Looking at the gleaming stars,

Feet dipped in water,

Admiring the moon far and far,

When I find a dream inside,

I don’t let it go,

Because dreams are the tiny seeds

From which the beautiful tomorrow grows

The golden rules for life

Remember to forget the things that made you sad,

Never forget to remember the things that made you glad,

Always remember to forget the troubles that passed away,

Never forget to remember the blessings that come each day,

For you let your parents feel proud,

Grow your knowledge like a little sprout,

Always be good and confident you stand,

Always be kind and held a helping hand,

Be like the sun and not like the moon,

You will have your own light very soon,

Be everyone’s star and dear,

And no need to give accompany to fear,

Always on the bright side of life you look,

Explore your strengths and every nook,

Never forget the family you love,

Keep your love everything’s above

Ecstasy

The meaning of ecstasy is to stay exited and happy,

Sometimes soft and sometimes peppy,

Singing, drawing, writing and dance,

Express yourself in one glance,

There are tough times in everyone’s life,

There is sometimes six and sometimes one on the dice,

But remember to smile each time
