On July 25, a wellness meet was organised at Nilgiri Hall, featuring Dr Aneet Sawhney. She was introduced by MS Dhami, who said that this was the first of three lectures. The programme is so planned that there will be separate talks for senior citizens, then adults, and then one for children and parents. “Addressing 40 people who came in at 11 a.m., Dr Aneet said that one should express gratitude every morning. She gave the example of cows and bees, saying that if God has given these animals and insects a purpose on Earth, then God has a purpose for each one. She said that simple acts of kindness, like smiling and giving a compliment, release good hormones. Exercising in the open air releases the happiness hormones, which lead to a state of bliss, or ‘Ananda’. She ended the session with meditation, which was quite powerful.
