The annual gathering of SDF residents was held on Mar 2. Despite intermittent rain, the event was delightful, especially during the high-tea when the weather became pleasant and cool, with a gentle breeze blowing and cloudy skies.
President Anupma warmly welcomed everyone, and the turnout of residents was impressive. A delicious spread of piping hot dishes including aloo tikki, dahi papadi, golgappe, and pav bhaji was served. The lawn, adorned in charming pink, had a festive ambiance.
The entertainment for the evening included two rounds of Tambola, led by SDF resident Mani Anand, who ensured that everyone was engaged and had a great time. The winners of the Tambola were ecstatic, and excitement filled the air as twenty lucky-draws were conducted. The highlight of the event was the presentation of plants in lovely ceramic planters to the lucky-draw winners – the plants were collected as part of the “Donate, Gift, and Exchange Plants” campaign, initiated in memory of the late Pam Malhotra.
The evening continued with musical performances, with Mani Anand captivating the audience by singing “Jo Bheji Thi Dua” followed by Anupma’s heartfelt performance of “Khawab Ho Tum Ya Koi Hakeekat.” Adding to the charm of the evening, Prabha Mathur sang a beautiful self-composed song, gracefully wrapping up the event.
Overall, the gathering was well organized and it strengthened bonds within the community, filling the atmosphere with laughter and camaraderie.
