Welcome to Jaypee Wishtown – The Society of Elites !

Hello, my fellow elites! Glad to see you here. I love it here in Jaypee Wishtown! I know South Delhi has very fancy houses, but here I get to live in a gated community – the gate, of course, being there to keep out anything that I don’t like such as visible poverty or real life.

I love that I can impose my will on the people who work here, at random! Yesterday, a guard neither got up to salute me when I passed by nor wished me good morning. Such disrespect! Good thing I had half an hour to spare; he deserved that lecture.

I don’t know why FMG folks don’t put in their job profile that a good guard is one who visibly displays his respect for those that are richer than him.

In fact, the guard shouldn’t have been given a chair at all – he’s privileged enough to get to work for us. Now he wants to sit? And let me not even talk about how ACs are for the residents, not for guards. Such a waste of electricity!

We’re making them comfortable; they’ll become soft. How will they do their job – which is to run out when we show up at the tower gate and offer to carry our veggies for us. Don’t they know that?

There’s much disrespect all around. After that guard disrespected me by not even standing up, I walked into the lift and someone’s domestic help was in it – and she didn’t step out when I walked in!

Doesn’t she know that she’s supposed to use the service lift? Her job is not to clean and maintain someone’s house. Her job is to show me respect, by not occupying the elevator at the same time that I want to occupy it.

It’s simple – at my last job, there was lots of hierarchy. I worked my way up to a senior position, and finally started getting the respect that I deserved. Now I come here and suddenly there’s no hierarchy. All residents are supposed to be equal!

What’s the harm if I start thumbing my nose at sections that I feel are beneath me? Domestic helps. Guards. Bachelors. Tenants. Delivery persons. People walking their dogs. We are NOT all the same class, and they should KNOW that already.

Oh, someone chase all these desi dogs away. They’re scaring my husky.
