The ARWA Team that took charge in April,23 deserves all kudos for their accomplishments during the First Half Year. However, a cross section of the residents while appreciating the collective efforts and hard work done by the ARWA Team had a few suggestions as under: 1. Dry leaves and garbage left untended and dumped across different areas have also led to many residents complaining about mosquito menace, moths, flies, etc.
2. Light pruning of some tree branches required in certain locations.
3.Fencing repair and strengthening the wall around the Peepal Tree, an important landmark of Block Nos. 8 and 9 requires urgent attention. This issue is pending since long.
4.Menace of stray dogs and monkeys and consequent problems continue and needs to be attended to with an iron hand. Several residents of Vasant Kunj have reported stray dogs attacking senior citizens and children. There have been instances of monkeys barging into houses, terrorising the residents and snatching fruits and food and breaking and damaging the potted plants.
5. Security arrangements need to be tightened due to the recent thefts and break-ins in the colony. Boundary walls need to be strengthened, Concertina wires are to be installed and more surveillance cameras need to be installed at vantage locations especially in Block No. 8 and 9 that are adjacent to the Forest area. Patrolling by security guards must be intensified.
6 Illumination of dark spots across the sector as identified by the residents need to be taken up on priority. In such locations extra lighting should be provided. The Sector residents are hopeful that the issues raised would be processed quickly by the ARWA Executive Team as nearly six months are over. The ARWA Team must lay down clear timelines and inform the residents by way of a clear circular as to when each of the above pending civic issues would be attended to.
