This November we saw several days of water shortage in DLF-2 and surrounding areas. First week of November saw a 24-hour shutdown of 600mm master water supply line from Sector 16 boosting station. This was done to shift the 600mm pipe for NCRTC Project. There was a leakage in the pipeline that led to a huge wastage of water.
Residents were advised to conserve and use water judiciously. Still many areas went 3-4 days without adequate water supply and had to rely on private tankers.
Mid-November saw another water crisis when there was no water supply in DLF tanks from Basai.
It was reported that there had been a leakage in the pipelines from Basai which was later repaired. The overhead tanks located in P and L block water stations were relied upon during this emergency situation as even the underground water tanks were empty at that point in time.
