On the 10th of February’24, the SLRWA team started the long-awaited cleaning of the sewers of Sushant Lok C block. In places, the manual cleaning of the sewers is also taking place, as many sewers are choked and overflowing to create a conundrum for the residents, without any respite. The problem is perhaps that the rate of construction does not match with the old sewer system as the new ones are not added, and the cleaning of just a few; does not serve the purpose because the prior ones are clogged too. Unless the whole line gets cleared the middle ones will keep popping out the garbage and so much so the roads are getting affected as the drain water remains stuck at them, even some people are having trouble with their private washrooms because of this. Hope now that the work is started, it will yield some fruits of labour and will bring some solace to the Sushant Lok inhabitants.
