In a country where work culture and work ethos has been conspicuous by its absence, the arrival of a motivated dynamic Head of Department becomes obvious by the flurry of activity
among its staff. Laxmi Singh is one such officer. What distinguishes her is her special consideration for RWAs seeking support. At an initial meeting on 26 December, 22, she undertook three long standing demands: for crosschecking and verification of tenants and Caretakers in a systematic manner, for Beat patrolling as per roster, with monthly meetings with the respective DCPs. And tow away facility for unidentifiable private vehicles, and commercial vehicles, Two days later, an impressive entourage of 20 odd police officials including SHO 20, Chowki in Charge, Chowki SI, Mahila Thana, Si. descended upon the Sector, walked on foot, around the Sector, escorted by President, VP and other members of the EC, to acquaint themselves with the situation on the ground. This kind of walkaround, accompanied by police horns, is, itself, an important deterrent to potential bad elements.
A week later, a team headed by Head ConstableAmit Upadhyay descended on the Sector for verification and identification. It is planned to approach Noida Authority through Police channels for those “Agyaat Vaasi” who hide behind a murky veil of anonymity.
