The event, a “Walkathon” was organized by Kidney Support Network and a Hospital to raise awareness about kidney disease and kidney health, and was led by Dr Vijay Kher, a distinguished Nephrologist and Chairman of the Kidney Urology Institute. This event was supported by The New Friends Co-Op. House Building Society Ltd. It was all about a walk together by people facing chronic kidney disease issues and healthcare professionals towards the common cause of raising awareness around kidney disease(s) and hope to people suffering from it.
The event was widely advertised. Several banners could be seen all around the neighbourhood on Ashoka Park Road etc. welcoming all to participate. The event was flagged off from in front of the a Hospital, Ashoka Park Road, NFC at 7.00 am on 17.03.2024. Its success was evident from the number of people who had gathered there to participate in the ‘Walkathon’, the starting point of which was the a Hospital, to Jamia Milia Islamia and back from Jamia all the way up to the starting point. It was certain that the event garnered attention from residents from within the colony and also the neighbouring areas.
