The Vasant Vihar Member’s Directory is a source of varied information to all the members. It is printed once every three years and apart from members’ addresses it has many other interesting articles and titbits about the colony. It is a long process to prepare the Directory, but the result is always received happily by all members.
We begin by sending out Whatsapp posts to all the VVWA groups requesting members to check their previous data and give us any corrections that may be needed. Unfortunately, the response is not too great since many members are not a part of the groups. However, the Block Representatives start calling all those who are members and getting the latest updates from them. The last step is when our office staff begins calling the landlines in the hope that we can contact all those who have not entered their mobile numbers in the previous Directory. It is a long process!!
All the while this is going on, we contact the Advertisers for our Directory. This year the response was very good and finally we had to stop taking in more advertisements since we were crossing our prescribed limits!
We also have many important phone numbers in our Directory such as the numbers of 24-hour open Chemists, the nearest hospitals, the helplines for MCD, Cattle, BSES, DJB etc. All these keep changing over the years and they need to be called and confirmed before we print them.
Our Directory has coloured maps of each block so that you can easily see where your home is located. It has the pictures and details of all the Block Representatives and the VVWA Team so that they can easily be contacted. We also have a President’s address to the members, a series of photographs highlighting the activities which have taken place in the previous years.
All in all, this is an important document which we take great pleasure in preparing and presenting.
