A Special General Body Meeting of the Society was held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, to consider and approve the recommendations of the Consultative Committee report for carrying for
ward the Shanti Niketan Recreation Project (SNRC) and pass the appropriate resolution.
The Managing Committee placed before the General Body two options. The first option was to construct Ground Floor and First Floor and the second option was to restrict the construction to Ground Floor only. The Managing Committee’s recommendation was to go in for the first option involving an additional capital expenditure of Rs 3.24 crore over and above Rs. 3 crore already approved by the General Body in the General Body Meeting of the the Society held in August 2022.
Another option was added by the President, Deepak Mishra, during the conduct of the proceedings of the Special General Body Meeting. The third option was to suspend the SNRC project.
The General Body unanimously approved the third option – To Suspend the SNRC Project.
In a separate development, some residents have filed a suit in the Hon’ble Court. The details are given below:
A suit for injunction has been filed against the managing committee members of past and present teams vide CS No.1195/2025. It came up for hearing Saturday i.e 22.03.2025 and summons have been issued to the defendants. The next hearing is on 08.05.2025. Now the matter is sub-judice before the Hon’ble Patiala House Court and all proceedings will be subject to the outcome of the suit.
