Vividha family decided to have its annual day after a gap of three years. As we announced it in November, members started planning for the big day. The actual preparations started after the festivities were over, precisely after November 15. And what talented bunch of ladies this group consists of! There are orators, there are dancers, there are singers and there are ladies who were ready to perform anything assigned to them.
We invited Manju Sodhani as our chief guest for the evening. She was more than happy and gracious in accepting our invite as she had been attached with Vividha for more than a decade and now stays in Bhiwadi.
After lighting the lamp by our chief guest and our executive members, it was time for a cultural extravaganza. The programme started with Saraswati Vandana dance followed by a medley of dances on wedding songs to celebrate the ongoing wedding season.
Our members enacted two plays – one musical dance drama Bhasmasur and another a social comic play Ek Adalat Aisi Bhi. The characters looked real and relatable. There was a retro dance on old and new tunes by our young dancers.
Despite the busy schedules at home, family commitments and health issue, ladies were coming regularly for rehearsals and the enthusiasm and energy were commendable.
The decor, the food, the stage -everything was perfect. Kudos to the executive body of Vividha which left no stone unturned to make this programme a grand success.
Members were given beautiful annual gifts also. There were quite a few raffle draws as well where lots of draw was held and gifts given.
Hot coffee was served on the cold evening which was much needed. And the story does not end here. To thank the participants, all of them were invited to an after party where they all relished yummy chaat and engaged in chit chat. Those who could not make it, promised to be there next time.
