The morning walkers group organised a vishal bhandara on Sunday, 22 January 2023 at the intersection of the M-1 and M-9 lanes. The Bhandara was open to all. A large number of residents, staff members, workers and commuters took ‘prasad’ in the Bhandara and several volunteered to do sewa also. It was especially heartwarming to see young children step forth and serve with a smile.
The occasion saw a turnout of over 5500 people. The event was planned till 4 pm but due to an unexpectedly high turnout rations were replenished, and cooked again. The service was continued till 5 pm.
The entire contribution was made by the morning walkers group alone and this is the second year they hosted this lavish Bhandara.
The remarkable part of the Bhandara was the live bhajans that were sung by a team of musicians specially invited for the occasion. The soulful kirtan kept everyone in good spirits. Many residents too joined in to hum along with the singers.
Only eco-friendly disposables were used and special care was given to clean up the Bhandara site afterwards. Many residents joined the cleaning drive. The Vishal bhandara was a great success and spread a lot of good vibes all around.
