Vinod Kapila grew up in Chandigarh, where she attended the Government College for Girls, which was considered the best college in Punjab. From a young age, she had an interest in cooking and trying new recipes. “My mother was an excellent cook, so it was likely in my genes. During our travels around the world, I truly developed and refined my skills by trying out new cuisines from different regions” she says. Since young age, she always wanted to open her own restaurant. Running your own restaurant is very challenging as one must manage many tasks and take full responsibility for controlling the kitchen staff, finances, pricing and being ready for fierce competition. Throughout her culinary journey, she found great accomplishment in sharing her knowledge, experience and expertise through cooking workshops with college girls working women, housewives, and students.
While in conversation, we came to know about her passion for cooking and baking evolved into a mission to empower women and girls, equipping them with the skills and confidence to become self-sufficient. Her journey is a testament to her unwavering commitment to this cause. She always wanted to create a space where young women could learn, experiment, and grow in their culinary pursuits.
While expressing her journey she says “Over the period of time my role has become multifaceted. I instruct and share my wealth of knowledge in cooking & baking. I also mentor students, providing them with the support and encouragement they need to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Beyond the classroom, I advocate for women’s empowerment through culinary education”. In a world where self-sufficiency is increasingly important, she believes, her role as an educator mentor, and advocate is more crucial than ever. Her legacy is not just in the recipes she perfected but in the lives she touched & the independence she has fostered in young women.
Recently, her supportive son has enabled her to become a modern-day YouTuber, & has covered her cooking tutorials on social media which she truly aspires to continue so that anyone could learn the art of cooking.
