In the heart of DLF Phase 2, a group of like-minded women came together on February 16, 2023, with a vision to bring the concept of a ‘human library’ to their community. Comprising Nidhi Lamba, Suman Kashyap, Mona Bhardwaj, Kangan Jain, Nity Jain and Smriti Chhabra, this dynamic team of six set out to create something unique, not just another replica of ideas from the West.
Their journey began with a year of planning and meetings, aiming to crystallize their vision for the project. The result of their collective efforts materialized exactly a year later, on February 16, 2024, when the team proudly presented their first-ever LIVE session for the audience of DLF 2.
The team, known as Victory Voices, recognizes the power of stories – stories of resilience, triumph, and transformation that are woven into the fabric of everyday life. Their goal is to bring these narratives to a shared platform, providing an opportunity for everyone to find inspiration. The initiative, titled “As the Phoenix Rises – Inspiring Real Life Victories,” is more than just a series of talks; it’s a celebration of the human spirit. Each monthly session is carefully crafted to elicit applause and admiration from all corners, transcending generational boundaries. The concept is a genuine reflection of their community’s ethos. Victory Voices aims to offer uplifting experiences that resonate with people from various walks of life. By curating such stories, they seek to foster a sense of unity within the community. The power of shared experiences, after all, has the potential to create lasting bonds and ignite positive change.
Victory Voices is committed to featuring speakers, called ‘The Phoenix’ who embody buoyancy and triumph over adversity. The speakers chosen for this series are individuals who have experienced the lowest lows in life but have risen back to glory and achieved ultimate success, just like the mythical creature- the phoenix. Their stories serve as powerful testimonials of the human spirit’s capacity to overcome challenges and emerge stronger. By showcasing these remarkable individuals, Victory Voices aims to inspire and motivate the community. These speakers will bring forth narratives of perseverance, transformation, and victory against all odds. These kinds of speakers not only provide valuable insights into navigating life’s difficulties but also demonstrate that setbacks can be a stepping stone to success.
The distinguished guest speaker for the inaugural session was none other than Saina Sarin, a resident of P block DLF 2, studying in class 9 of Ridge Valley school, the visionary founder of Project Kamakhya a Project that gained global recognition advocating and raising awareness about menstrual hygiene and sustainable menstruation for underprivileged women. Saina presented it at the United Nations in New York City during the 7th 1M1B Activate Impact Summit. This earned her a prestigious award for the most famous internet video. This first session was held on 16th February 2024, from 4 pm till 4:45 pm at L-4/31, basement, DLF 2. A full house attendance of enthusiastic residents not only motivated students like Saina but also encouraged the team to come back with more such impactful PHOENIXES
