Vibrant Teej Celebrations at Morpehus

Hariyali Teej is a vibrant celebration seeped in rich cultural traditions and devotion. The ladies of Morpheus celebrated this auspicious occasion on 03 August in the clubhouse. It was bedecked with beautiful décor, colorful chunnis, Rajasthani umbrellas and flowers that transported everyone to a festive wonderland. The three oraganisers—Ruchika Jain, Sonu Rathore and Madhvi Joshi — had been tirelessly working for a month to make it a memorable evening for all.

Around 5 pm, ladies dressed elegantly in traditional ethnic attire, intricate sarees, resplendent lehengas, and beautifully adorned jewelry started assembling in hopes of winning punctuality. Laughter filled the air as they were greeted by fragrant white gajras and colorful bangles. The program commenced with a mesmerising Ganesh Vandana dance by Madhvi, some lip-smacking snacks and jaljeera.

The dances, a hallmark of Teej, were a visual delight. Women of all ages swayed gracefully to traditional tunes, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm leaving everyone spell bound. Gifts flowed generously for dances and punctuality, reflecting the spirit of sharing and love. Shringaar game coordinated by Sonu was a huge hit, while Madhvi enthralled everyone with her mind twister quiz. The Antakshari session helmed by Ruchika saw participants divided into teams singing songs from Bollywood’s golden era.

The Teej Queen round was the highlight of the event with two categories, above 60 years and below 60. For the younger group, a saree draping contest along with question round was organized by Ruchika Jain. Three winners were awarded a crown and gifts. For the older group, multiple rounds of dancing statues were played after which three winners were honored with a crown. All participants embodied grace, beauty and enthusiasm.

The celebrations came to an end with delectable chaat stalls embodying tantalizing flavors of street food, and of course Ghewar as the traditional Teej sweet. The Teej celebration reflected a deep-rooted tradition that is the heartbeat of India.
