International Women’s Day is not just a day for women; it is a day for everyone. It is a day to reflect on the progress we’ve made towards gender equality and to recognize the work that still lies ahead On the evening of March 9, the residents of E Block Park, Sector 39, came together to celebrate International Women’s Day in a spectacular event organized by the Residents Welfare Association. The park was adorned with an array of shades of pink, setting the stage for a memorable celebration. Everyone was dressed up in the different shades of pink.
Surpassing expectations, the event drew more than 100 enthusiastic ladies, surpassing the estimated gathering of 50 to 60. The two charismatic hosts, Deepika Sarna and yours faithfully, added charm to the program, welcoming everyone to an evening filled with joy and festivities.
Distinguished guests, including President Dr. G S Sachdeva, Vice President Kuldeep Singh, General Secretary Rahul Jain, Finance Member M R Gupta, and. Suraj Verma, were present to grace the occasion. The lighting of the lamp by ladies above 70 years, alongside RWA members, marked the ceremonial beginning of the event.
The cultural extravaganza showcased the talents of the sector’s own ladies, featuring dances, songs, poem recitation ,speech and guest lecture of women’s health. The main attraction, Tambola, captivated the ladies, with numerous prizes announced as part of the surprise awards, leading to a tough competition to decide the winners.
An NGO founded by an esteemed resident of our own Sector, took the opportunity to introduce their organization, distributing complimentary potted plants under the mission for a green environment. The ladies participated with great enthusiasm, making it a memorable evening for everyone present.
A special chaat corner, curated for the event, added a delightful flavor to the celebration, allowing the ladies to relish the evening in a unique way. The success of the event was attributed to the unwavering support and cooperation of the RWA.
The ravishing hosts, played a pivotal role in weaving this event beautifully, earning praise from each and every participant. General Secretary Rahul Jain expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all the organizers behind the curtain, making this Women’s Day celebration a resounding success.
As we celebrated the achievements of women today, let us remember that the struggle for gender equality is ongoing. It requires our collective effort, determination, and commitment. Together, let us build a future where every woman’s potential is recognized, celebrated, and unleashed.
