Vasant Vihar celebrates its Founder’s Day on October 1st every year, marking the day it became operational in 1991. This year the celebrations kicked off with prayers in the morning followed by a mega bumper tambola in the evening.
A haven was performed by the priest from Arya Samaj Mandir Vasant Vihar followed by religious discourse and recitation of ‘Shabad’ by the priest from Gurdwara Sahib Vasant Vihar. Additionally, the occasion was used to felicitate the club’s sportsmen, recognizing their achievements and contributions to the club. Ajit Bhardwaj, an exceptional sportsman, received special accolades for his remarkable achievements in tennis and pickleball.
His Achievement:
Tennis: Ajit won 25 gold and 15 silver medals last year. He has consistently remained No. 1 in singles and doubles rankings. Was captain of the senior Indian team at the world championships in Turkey. Presently, his ITF world ranking is 34 in the singles category.
Pickle Ball: Top-ranked player in the 50+ singles category and World Champion in the 60+ category with highest point telly.
Ajit’s journey from training at the club to becoming a global champion showcases the Vasant Vihar Club’s role in nurturing talent.
