Vasant Vihar Club Celebrates International Yoga Day

The International Yoga Day is celebrated annually on June 21 to create awareness about its vast potential in improving overall health and wellbeing. Every year, International Yoga Day adopts a specific theme to focus the celebrations and activities around a particular aspect of Yoga. The theme for 2024 is “Yoga for Self and Society”.

Vasant Vihar Club hosted a grand International Yoga Day celebration in association with Saksham Yoga and Naturopathy Treatment Centre. The event was a delightful blend of yoga and camaraderie, welcoming participants of all ages to embrace the transformative power of yoga. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Ritu Gaur, Director of Saksham, the session featured a series of invigorating asanas and breathing exercises, fostering both physical and mental well-being. Adding to the event’s grandeur was the Chief Guest, Col (Dr.) Gunjan Malhotra, Mrs. India Subcontinental 2024. Her inspiring presence and insightful words underscored the significance of holistic health practices in our daily lives. Dr. Malhotra’s participation elevated the event, making it not just a celebration of yoga, but a celebration of community spirit and resilience.

The event also saw the attendance of many senior doctors, including neurologists, chest specialists, and gynaecologists, who shared their expertise on the health benefits of yoga. Their involvement provided valuable insights and emphasized the importance of integrating yoga with conventional medical practices.

The atmosphere was filled with joy and learning as the members of Vasant Vihar, from the young to the elderly, came together to explore the benefits of yoga. The event was both cheerful and educational, leaving attendees motivated to integrate yoga into their routines.

The event marked the culmination of a highly successful two-week free Yoga camp, which received an overwhelming response and proved immensely beneficial for the participants.
