The year 2020 may have brought our lives to a halt but for many, it opened up a door to different experiences and opportunities too. Varun Sharma of Y 015 Regency Park 2, a young 13-year old is an example of when an opportunity comes, you not only open the door but welcome it. Varun started playing online Chess with his friends on ‘Lichess’ during Covid times and very soon started to develop an interest in the game. With his increasing interest in the game, he started participating in inter and intra-school chess Championship and has been steadily improving his rank. He has won medals, trophies and certificates of honour for his game.
Reena and Vicky Sharma, the parents of Varun work as domestic help and driver in a home in RP2. Varun studied at Ridge Valley School in grade 8. He is known to all as a polite and respectful boy.
His favourite subject is maths and his other interests include listening to music which he shyly admitted how loves to hum along too. Varun is keen on sports and loves to play Cricket and football. He aspires to be a grandmaster one day. Good luck Varun, we are all rooting for your success and hope that we will hear more and more about your achievements.
