by Alpa Maheshwari (SV-1/06/top floor, Eldeco Utopia)

“Every child is a different kind of flower and all together makes this world a beautiful garden.” 14 November is celebrated as Children’s Day in India. An evening marking childhood was made memorable for not only our young ones but also the residents of the society, by the cultural committee of Eldeco Utopia headed by Daisy Jain.

We celebrated the Children’s Day eve on 13 November, by organising the “Utopia Talent Hunt” as a part of “Utopia Wonderland Carnival”. The eve commemorated with immense joy, enthusiasm and magnificence as the children came up with beautiful performances of music, dance and singing.

The three-members jury comprised – Aparna Agarwal, Ajay Masson and Dr. Ruby.  Though all children gave in their best but winning a contest is a big deal for all little children who participated with all their heart and a lot of hard work to win it.

Following kids were winners as per their excellence in the field: Vihaan Khera of Ol-I/2004 proved his excellence in singing; Aarav Shrivastava of NT -I/701 took his position in playing piano; and Pavika Sharma of EH 4/401, in dance.

Kids Fashion Show was also organised in collaboration with the organisers of Delhi Fashion Week. Children of 0 to 15 years participated in the show. Few of them accompanied their parents and grandparents too, in the catwalk. The winners of the fashion show were Pavika Sharma (EH-4/401) and parents with the kids’ winners were Annie and Anaya. These winners received the certificate on the day itself and would be called for a shoot by fashion show organisers in sometime.

Over 50 + kids participated in this celebration of the Children’s Day and the mommies were no less. Few of the mommies also performed for the kids and put up a great show. Kids really enjoyed the magic show, which was also a part of the celebration and the elders enjoyed playing the tambola too.

All the residents not only enjoyed the performances and the shopping at various stalls put up, but also satiated their taste buds at the food counters arranged. All the children along with their parents were overwhelmed and enjoyed the eve to their fullest. President, D K Mishra concluded the celebration by congratulating and appreciating all the participants.
Overall it was a great show enjoyed by each and every resident!
