The well-established and vibrant Utkarshini Club of Sector 61 hosted its January meeting with the lively theme “Marriage Masala.” This month, the dress code added a touch of elegance, as all the ladies dazzled in silk sarees, creating a colorful and graceful atmosphere.
The day began with a warm welcome speech by the club’s president, Roli Goel , who set a joyous tone for the gathering. Reena Kapoor and Archana Singh were the Punctuality Game winners and the special honuors and gifts were presented to the ladies born in January.
The first event was a vibrant Mahila Sangeet by Poonam Sharma, Archana Singh, Sangeeta Sinha, and Sharmila Goel. Traditional banna-banni songs brought alive the essence of wedding celebrations, setting the perfect mood for the theme. A humorous and heartfelt skit on the dynamics of a husband-wife relationship was performed by the club’s elderly members, Kamlesh Mahajan and Kamlesh Kant. Their comedic flair made it one of the standout performances of the day.
There was a spirited dance performance by the ladies on the theme of “Shaadi Ke Side Effects,” performed by Arti Khanna, Vinisha Malik, Prachi Agarwal, and Sunita Garg. The creative choreography and expressive moves highlighted the relatable and humorous aspects of married life. A playful skit on the timeless saas-bahu relationship was performed by two talented members, Lali Singh and Nirmala Mishra. Their hilarious and lively act left the audience thoroughly entertained.
The event concluded with a spectacular fashion show titled “Brides of India,” where our talented members Nisha Singh, Swati Singh, Roli Goel, Anuradha Pathak, Preeti Bhanot,Prerna Bansal, Reena Kapoor, Rita Saxena, Ruma Chopra, and Saroj Singh showcased traditional bridal attire from various regions of the country. The event was skilfully hosted by the author of this write up, who ensured a seamless flow and kept the members engaged throughout.
There was also a heartfelt segment by Pratibha Singh and Seema Malik, who offered a mix of wisdom and entertainment. The day ended with an impromptu dance session, where everyone joined in the fun, followed by a spread of delicious refreshments.
