On 15th July, Goonj held one of their regular collection camps in Ridgewood Estate, Residents came out of their comfort zones in such humidity and hot weather with warm hearts having touching feelings on their faces born from an empathy for village Indian issues and challenges.
Residents not only donated clothes but also loads of linen in very good condition, toys which can bring smiles to toddlers and books for grown-ups to create learning anxiety and also help some with their exams. One could see rations being given, and loads of Maggie packets and staples were donated during the collection drive.
This attitude ensures and adds to a continuous supply of material as an equally powerful resource for development in Rural India.
‘An Appeal to bring Smiles’ Donate your unwanted garments and other articles to organisations like ‘Goonj’ and you can let your clothes and many other things like old utensils, shoes, computers, watches, books stationery, toys, linen and what not be loved all over again.
You might not be getting much use out of that jumper or Kadhai, but someone else definitely will – and they could be having or getting in exchange those instead of something brand new, too.
